About Cabin Brewing Company
Cabin Brewing Company is a brewery, taproom and getaway in the heart of Calgary's growing brewing district, The Barley Belt.
We serve our craft beer, brewed on site, and pair it with a selection of hot and cold food items including New Zealand-style hot meat pies, warm pretzels with dipping sauces and cheese and charcuterie boards.
Take the time to relax with friends and family in our comfortable 45-seat taproom, or settle in with a book or a board game. You are welcome to bring the whole family; we have Lego, high chairs, kids snacks and a change table so even the smallest members of the Cabin family are comfortable.

Triple Threat
(4.21/5)
If you could select your three favourite hops to
make a beer, what would you choose?
We opted for three of the most fragrant,
enigmatic and unique hop varietals known to
brewers, representing the three top hop-growing
regions in the world - the Pacific Northwest of
the United States, Australia and New Zealand.
Weve dunked a ridiculous amount of Sabro
(US), Galaxy (Aus) and Nelson Sauvin (NZ) hops
into this absolute rip-snorter of a haze bomb.
Imagine an explosion at a tropical fruit juicing
plant and youll be partway towards knowing
what this smells and tastes like. Its smooth,
full-bodied and very, very, VERY aromatic.
Style: IPA - Imperial / Double New England
ABV: 8.5% IBU: 60

In the Hallway, With the Axe
(3.72/5)
All work and no play makes Professor Plum a dull boy. Was he the mysterious purple-clad figure roaming the halls of the Overlook Hotel the night the Grady twins died? We have no clue. We do, however, know a good mash-up when we see it. Like the salty and sour flavours of German gose beer, melded with the rich, dark fruit notes of ripe plum. Additions of coriander and wheat give a lingering flavour that shines. Its to die for.
Style: Sour - Fruited Gose
ABV: 4.8% IBU: 10

Cool As
(3.68/5)
This beer is tart, dry and super refreshing with layers of complex lime flavours and aromas, balanced with a cool earthy undertone from the cucumber. Making this beer was fun! We hand-peeled 300 pounds of Alberta-grown cucumbers, and zested and juiced 200 limes.
We also added torn kaffir lime leaves and smashed dried Mediterranean loomi limes to give it a certain something that most lime beers do not. Light additions of salt and coriander bring the flavours together with a long lasting bready wheat flavour.
Its not just cool. Its Cool As!
Style: Sour - Fruited Gose
ABV: 5.2% IBU: 10

Starburst
(4.34/5)
Starburst weighs in an astronomical 9.5%, but floats on your tongue like a regular haze bomb. The thickness of the body will send your tongue into zero gravity and the hop bill of 100% Galaxy hops will send your taste buds into orbit. It radiates passionfruit, cantaloupe, lychee, and candied orange and continues to transmit wave after wave of aromas towards your nose, even once the glass is empty.
Style: IPA - Triple New England
ABV: 9.5% IBU: 45

Zen Garden
(3.71/5)
For our second lager we wanted to make something different. Something light and crisp, yet floral and intriguing. A glorious lager to welcome in the brighter, lighter days. Something that epitomizes zen-like calm. Zen Garden uses 100% pilsner malt from Albertas Origin Malting with fragrant jasmine rice added for complexity and flavour. Its the palest of straw in colour, with slightly floral and light bready aromas. It has a crisp, clean flavour with some nuttiness on the finish from the rice. It finishes dry and crisp.
Style: Lager - Japanese Rice
ABV: 5% IBU: 15

The Dreaming
(4.05/5)
Close your eyes and dream of a land so vast and
great and rich in culture you can lose yourself
in it for weeks at a time.
The Dreamtime is the foundation of Aboriginal
religion and culture in Australia. It is the story
of events that have happened, how the universe
came to be, how human beings were created
and how their Creator intended for humans to
function within the world as they knew it.
For our Australian-hopped hazy IPA, The
Dreaming, we leaned into the ethereal qualities
of this mystical land. Galaxy, Enigma and Vic
Secret hops have been layered in tropical
abundance, behind a smooth and full-bodied
malt base. Unlike most hazy beers, we used no
wheat and oats - just 2-row, flaked barley
and Victory malt.
Style: IPA - New England
ABV: 6.7% IBU: 35

Table Ghost
(4.09/5)
Gather close kids, and listen carefully. Strange things have been happening at Cabin. Really strange things...
A knocking sound in the boiler. A monotonous squeak heard through the walls. Shrieks of delight from the taproom. Vanishing piles of new release beer. One day all the beer turned hazy, and it hasn't been clear since.
Something had to be done. We prayed to the beer gods. We offered up barley wine sacrifices. We had a vision and knew what to do. We threw hops. We sprinkled the brew system with blessed brewing water. We incanted brewing calculations and style guidelines late into the night.
The next day, the activity stopped. At the same time, a ghostly spectre appeared in the wood grain of a taproom table. We had done it. We had trapped Cabin's ghost for good.
Table Ghost NEIPA is an homage to the little ghost that was. It's a dank, murky NEIPA of the finest quality, hopped abundantly with Strata hops. It's juicy, aromatic and delicious.
But wait... did you just see the ghost move around on the label? That's strange. Really strange...
Style: IPA - New England
ABV: 6.5% IBU: 40

Dawn Chorus
(4.06/5)
We couldnt finish up 2019 without one final haze-bomb to carry us through to 2020! Behold, the Dawn Chorus Hazy IPA, hopped exclusively with hops from New Zealand!
Early European settlers to New Zealand described a riot of birdsong and insect chirps from wild and strange creatures as first light broke over the new land. Sipping this beer, youll experience something similar - a riot of tropical fruit notes like pineapple, papaya and mango with bright citrus notes of orange and grapefruit - all from the medley of Taiheke, Motueka, Moutere and Nelson Sauvin hops.
Style: IPA - New England
ABV: 7% IBU: 45

Staycation
(3.99/5)
Staycation is pandemic life in springtime in a glass. It is part sweet, part sour and there is so much vibrancy right before your eyes, like the stay-at-home life youve been ignoring all this time, without realizing just how awesome it is. With tart cherry, raspberry, red currant, black currant, blueberry and blackberry blending in a jam-like melange, there is a lot to be thankful for and enjoy. While safely nestled at home.
Style: Sour - Berliner Weisse
ABV: 3.8% IBU: 12

87 Steps (2020)
(4.02/5)
87 Steps is the actual distance between Born
Colorado Brewing and Cabin Brewing
Company, in Calgarys Manchester brewing
area. We are neighbours. We are friends. We
share a love of community and making great
beer.
For the second year running weve gotten
together to celebrate Neighbour Day in the
way we know best by whipping up some
damn good beer and using it to bring people
together (at a safe distance of course
).
87 Steps is a luscious, full-bodied NEIPA that
is laden with fruit, with a nice tart finish that
keeps all that tropical craziness perfectly
balanced.
This Neighbour Day, why not say hi to the
folks around you, share a beer and help grow
your community? Because were all better
when we work together.
