Legal Issues   (3.68/5)

You brew a great beer. Then you come up with a great name for that beer. Then you run into legal issues when it turns out that name is already taken by folks who don’t play nice. So you say to hell with it. And you change the name: Legal Issues.

Nutty, fruity, toffee, molasses and caramel notes on the nose followed by light coffee, caramel and delicious nutty flavours on your palate. Hopped solely with EKG, it provides an earthy and grassy undertone. This brew is a smooth drinker, has a sweet finish due the residual sweetness of the Scottish yeast and is one of the most popular beer here at Origin.

Style: Scottish Export Ale

ABV: 5%    IBU: 18

Nightingale Porter   (3.81/5)

The Nightingale Porter is a classic American Porter. This beer allows Origin’s Chinook malt and Dark Munich malt to really shine through. A smooth graham cracker crust combined with a sweet chocolate flavor allows this malt forward beer to be enjoyed by anyone who dreams of chilly evenings and warm camp fires.

Style: Porter - American

ABV: 5.4%    IBU: 40

Practice What You Peach   (3.39/5)

Is it a peach cider or a beer? We don't know because it is hard to say! This wonderful concoction is perfect for the hot summer patio days. With its robust peach notes without the lingering sweetness, and a juicy quality that is addictive. Hop-o-phobics rejoice. Any hop characteristics are far away from this one.

Great Day For Haze XPA   (4.19/5)

Great Day for Haze is a double dry hopped hazy extra pale ale. A subtle tropical and citrus aroma comes from the Cascade and El Dorado hops that were exclusively used. It has a slight passionfruit and apricot flavor that is balanced with a silky medium bodied mouthfeel that comes from the flaked oats and malted wheat used in this recipe. Slight drying on the tongue will encourage drinkability. With this beer in hand, any day will be a “great day for hay”!

Style: IPA - English

ABV: 7.3%    IBU: 35

Bourbon Barrel Aged Nightingale Porter   (Unrated)

Our Bourbon Barrel Aged Nightingale Porter comes in at a whopping 10% after being aged for over a year in barrel. Jim Beam would be proud of the nose of this beer since it’s high oak and booze. Even though it’s high ABV I think it’s really mellow compared to some other barrel-aged I’ve tried. It would be a great finisher / disgetif beer, great for a cold night.

Style: Porter - American

ABV: 10%    IBU: 0

Rockyford Saskatoon Lager   (Unrated)

Style: Lager - Pale

ABV: 4.9%    IBU: 20

Foothills Pale Ale   (Unrated)

This is our take on the American Pale Ale. It is light gold in color with a big long lasting white head. It has a strong tropical and citrus aroma that comes from a heavy dry hop. These aromas carry through to the flavour with a hop forward bitterness and a supportive malt character. It has a medium body and a smooth finish.

Style: Pale Ale - American

ABV: 5.4%    IBU: 50
