Coffee is usually an afterthought when added to beer... so instead we brewed a beer with coffee in mind! Collaborating with Monogram Coffee, we designed a very neutral blonde ale and then dosed it with brewhouse-brewed hyper strong coffee after fermentation to lock in the origin of the bean we chose - natural-processed ARDI from Ethiopia. This is an ongoing collaboration with Monogram that will rotate new and exciting coffees through OT Brewing Co. and into our beers.

With generous amounts of roast grains, our stout has subtle hints of coffee. Nitrogen provides a creamy mouth feel, and oats are used to give a silky smoothness. A little bit of "milk" sugar leaves this stout lingering sweet on the tongue. Coffee, oats, and milk? Sounds like breakfast to me!

Slim 7 golden ale is a low calorie light ale using cascade hops exclusively.

Early in the 21st Century, the Zero Issue Corporation advanced beer evolution into the NEMESIS phase- a beer virtually unparalleled to drink. NEMESIS was superior in aroma and flavor but not equal in clarity, to those that came before. With intense grapefruit, mango, passionfruit and citrus notes and refreshing drinkability, Nemesis ushered in a new order.

Snowsquall Lager rings the bell at 6.2% alc./vol and 22 IBU. All of the barley in this batch was grown in Alberta by the fine folks at Hamill Farms and malted by Red Shed Malting. You'll get a chance to taste a brew crafted exclusively with the Newdale barley variety in two forms, both as a base malt and as a high dried "Rocky Mountain Malt". These malts are balanced against a hearty dose of late hops with traditional German and Czech hop varieties. Cozy up, you�re about to be snowed in!

Midnight Combine is a Belgian-style strong, dark beer aged in oak red wine barrels and co-fermented with wild microorganisms to produce a blend of sweet vanilla and dark fruit flavours along with a mild acidity like red wine and a complex blend of spicy phenols that will evolve as the beer ages. This beer is ready to drink now, but intended for cellaring for up to 3 years.

A wee heavy is a traditional Scottish ale that is rich, complex, malty and sweet. It goes perfectly at this time of year when the dark clouds form and the temperature dips. It is oh-so-smooth with gentle alcohol warmth that is perfect for sipping in front of the fire.

Lost & Won bursts with rich aromas of toffee and light caramel, with underlying notes of banana bread, golden syrup, butterscotch and dried fruit. The Scottish ale yeast strain throws off some wonderful subtle fruity esters reminiscent of cherries and berries.

The name and can design is inspired by The Scottish Play (aka Macbeth, by William Shakespeare). In Act I, Scene I, three witches meet in a deserted place amidst thunder and lightning. The second witch utters, in response to when they should meet again: �When the hurlyburly�s done, when the battle�s lost and won�.

Runaway Double IPA is a big, bold West Coast-style double IPA with a balanced bitter bite. It has notes of orange, grapefruit, light stonefruit and a whiff of pine resin. This beer has heart and soul and all sorts of delicious aromas and flavours that keep on keeping on until the last drop.

Big ol'Milk stout brewed with real vanilla, Rosso Coffee, and house made caramel.

A hazy non-typical IPA with a healthy dose of Lactose to thicken the body and increase the mouthfeel. Large quantities of late boil hop additions produce big tropical and citrus character while a generous amount of peach bring this beer to life. Finally we added pure vanilla extract to round this beer out and really give it a true milk shake feel.

Pink Boots Collaboration Brew Day 2018 welcomed women from the local beer industry to brew with us for the fourth year in a row! This year's brew is a Double IPA with a big nose and huge taste. We've hopped at every step with Cascade, Palisade, Chinook , Mosaic, Simcoe and Citra for a beer that is worthy of its name. We hope you enjoy drinking it as much as we have enjoyed brewing and canning it for you! A portion of the proceeds from the sale of this beer are used to establish the Pink Boots Bursary. This bursary helps women enrolled in the Olds College Brewmaster & Brewery Operations Management Course.

Our rotating "2C" dry-hopped Pale Ale series focuses on the "C" hops. We explore the fruity, earthy and spicy flavours our favorite "C" hops have to offer. Each month we brew a new batch with different hops! Whether it is Citra, Chinook, Columbus, Cascade, Centennial, Cashmere, Challenger, etc. These brews are hoppy enough for IPA lovers but still aproachable for the timid!

A mid-strength imperial stout featuring the largest and most complex grain bill to ever enter the O.T. mash tun, a three-hour boil, a significant hop drop in the whirlpool, and a conservative addition of whole Tahitian vanilla beans after fermentation to tie it all together. We get notes of milk chocolate-covered raisins, soft black liquorice, and mellow vanilla cola poking through a chewy, creamy body with refined Columbus hop character. Drink fresh or cellar away!

A west coast style IPA exploding with fresh hop flavour at the front of your mouth. An amazing IPA for scaling mountains and tackling any adventure you can come up with.

A collaboration between O.T. Brewing Company and Model Milk that fuses brewing and culinary creativity... this project began by inoculating wheat-based stout wort with lactobacillus cultured on rhubarb stalks in the Model Milk kitchen. Before the end of fermentation, we added 60kg of reduced Alberta-grown Hutterite raspberries to the beer. The result is a tart, light-bodied session stout with plenty of jammy, seedy raspberry character that is extremely drinkable and food-friendly.

The Viennese Summer is a hot weather crushable beer. Using only 1 malt (Vienna) and 2 hops (Huell Melon, Chinook) gives this brew a simple and delicious flavor profile. It's a taproom limited release, so pop by and enjoy while it lasts!

Our first public release of a Prairie dog barrel-aged beer. Starting as our house Porter, we aged the beer for several months in a french oak barrel that had previously been used to age red wine (style unknown). During its life in the barrel, the beer picked up loads of vanilla and stone fruit character (cherry), and underwent a secondary fermentation with wine yeast, drying it out significantly. To sweeten the beer backup, we blended it with more of the straight porter and added a hint of natural vanilla to round out the edges.

Infused with lactose, cinnamon, vanilla, and nutmeg, on a malt bill that�s heavy on the roast and chocolate, it�s holiday treat that�ll delight the most miserable grinch.

We brewed this pale ale twice changing one variable (the hop variety) in order to showcase these highly sought-after hops. In this version, Nelson Sauvin boasts characteristics of "fresh crushed gooseberries", a descriptor often used for the grape variety Sauvignon Blanc, giving rise to this hops' name. Undertones of lychee and lemon compliment the dry white-wine-like finish on this beer.

Introducing a refreshing and fruity kettle sour that was filled to the brim with fresh blackberry puree yielding huge flavor and an outrageous purple color.

Our hazy style IPA is hopped exclusively with Australian and New Zealand hops and has a medium-full body thanks to an experimental NEIPA dry yeast and a malt bill rich of wheat and oats. Namesake has big notes of juicy citrus, tropical fruit, stone fruit and some resinous pine. It�s medium bodied, has restrained bitterness and a smooth delivery - and a pile of haze too thanks to dry hopping rates of over 17 g/L.

A mash up English pale malt, Munich, C40, Carafa and Roasted Barley providing a solid malt backbone. Our bittering pellet hop addition are Centennial and our whirlpool pellet hop additions are Cascade, Amarillo and Mosaic. We then dry hop with Hopzoil essential hop oils, Cascade & Chinook.
This Black IPA is dominated with citrus, grassy and grapefruit flavors from the hops and roasty, chocolate notes from the malt. It is capped off with a dry, lingering finish due to the use of Roasted Barley.

This collaboration between O.T. and Paddy's was inspired by Blake and Dan's respective trips to Central Europe this spring where they both drank high volumes of a certain golden Czech pilsner. We trucked in two totes of reverse osmosis water from Paddy's, tried our hand at decocting Czech pilsner malt, hopped it with lots of Czech Saaz, fermented it with traditional Czech yeast, and lagered it as long as we could before it ended up in your hand. Na Zdrav�!

This Hazy American Blonde was dry hopped with Amarillo hops, then hit with a bunch of fresh mango. This is a taproom exclusive and will sell out fast!

This beer is big, bold, hoppy yet smooth. We dry hopped it 6 times! Named after a 100 megaton bomb which would have a total destruction blast radius of about 18 miles.

Our second collaboration with Monogram Coffee brewed for Hopwired Festival 2019 features the fully natural-processed Tibebu Roba from Ethiopia. Natural Java begins as a blonde ale that gets dosed with brewhouse-brewed coffee after primary fermentation. Expect notes of blueberry cheesecake with extra crust!!

Brewed with 100% Origin Malting Sweet Pilsner malt that is grown and malted in Strathmore Alberta. After primary fermentation and a long lagering period Rosso Coffee Roasters famous Two-wheel cold pressed espresso was added to the beer. This results in a slightly sweet lager with beautiful notes of espresso, chocolate and fresh baked bread.

Hazy, effervescent, full-flavoured, floral and complex. We designed this recipe from the ground up and used a generous addition of chamomile flowers and fresh Alberta Philpott honey to give the beer a unique and tasty flavour profile. Chamomile dominates with a soft honey aroma and a satisfying bready, cracker-like finish from Alberta malts. We used East Kent Golding hops for bittering and at whirlpool to reinforce the floral aroma. Everything comes together to make this a super easy-drinking, delicious summer beer.

Mango, dragon fruit, passion fruit

A robust stout infused with cocoa nibs and vanilla beans. The use of a Belgian Abbey yeast contributes dark stone fruit esters, while a combination of roasted and specialty malts give the beer a jet-black appearance, a tightly knit head, and layers of decadent chocolate, coffee, and caramel flavours.

Nitro ale

A solid milk-stout conditioned on a stupid amount of dark espresso and infused with maple sugar. You don�t have to drink it for breakfast but it would be cool if you did.

Kveik Imperial IPA. 3 year anniversary beer.

This style of beer became the first mass-produced beer during the industrial revolution in London; it became known as Porter after the common labourers in the city. The style all but disappeared after WWI but has recently reappeared as part of the Craft Beer movement. Made from traditional English malts and hops, this beer is dark and complex with hints of chocolate, toffee, and bready caramel.

This dark Munich lager both refreshes and satisfies the thirsty traveller with a medium body and a finish as smooth as the nighttime sea. A hint of sweet malt and toasty flavours are enough to intrigue any sailor and warm their spirits for the long journey ahead.

Tropical fruit layered over hints of pine. Subdued malt with a little more body than you�ll typically find in this style of beer.

Traditional Dunkelweizen, banana aroma, mild notes of chocolate and roast, drinks lighter than it looks. Named after Operation Barbarossa the code name for the Axis invasion of the Soviet Union, which started June 1941, during World War II. The operation stemmed from Nazi Germany's ideological aims to conquer the western Soviet Union so that it could be repopulated by Germans (Lebensraum), to use Slavs as a slave labour force for the Axis war effort, to murder the rest, and to acquire the oil reserves of the Caucasus and the agricultural resources of Soviet territories.

Creamy and medium-bodied, 5 Hundie Hazy IPA has notes of peach and cotton candy on the nose followed by suggestions of mango and papaya on the palate.

A delicious unfiltered IPA made with kind malts, dank hops and hemp flour. The addition of oats, flaked wheat and hemp flour brings a smooth, rich texture to the beer that is complemented by dank, tropical and citrus hop flavours.

Deep amber in colour with a big body and lower carbonation make this beer smooth on the tongue. Toffee, brown sugar and molasses aroma. Flavours of rich raisin, prune, caramel and toffee. Higher in alcohol but its well hidden making this beer very easy drinking.

Bid farewell while you sip on this strawberry rhubarb Gose. Fast-forward to warmer days, patio sippin' and sunshine late into the evening.

Our first anniversary beer celebrates two things we love here at O.T.-- hops and basketball! This single hop "super" pale ale was brewed with a hop new to us: Waimea from New Zealand. We kept the alcohol closer to that of a pale ale but dry hopped it like an IPA, like a perfect jump shot from the MVP of Canada's first NBA champions. We get notes of papaya creamsicle, preserved lemon, Froot Loops, and Kaimanua forest.

A rock solid hazy pale ale presented in true hazy fashion, this brew showcases some new school and old school hop varieties. Expect a blend of tropical and citrus aroma and signature "juicy" notes on the palate...and some subtle cotton candy and bubblegum. 9:40 refers to the time of day we always dry hop this beer, double dry hop to be exact. Enjoy!

Our take on a "milkshake" IPA (minus the milk)-- we used lots of oats instead of lactose to contribute a creamy body. With guava added at high krausen to ensure dryness, we let Ghost Runner nap on a bunch of whole Tahitian vanilla beans after being dry hopped with a bit of Citra for good measure. Dig its summery sherbet-like character while considering sharing one with the vegan in your life!

A home-brew shop owner who, back in 1999, handbuilt a small manual canner for home brewers. The rest, as they say, is history! Jamie spent 16 years tirelessly devoted to traveling the globe to install, educate, and help every single craft brewery possible benefit from canning their craft beer! Tool Shed is one of those breweries and is honoured to have called Jamie our friend! Bier Von Der Fels is a dry hopped sour lager brewed in collaboration with our friends at Bar Von Der Fels. Inspired by the great white wines of Burgundy, we tried to emulate the minerality, acidity, aroma, and fruit structure that are found in those wines. Dry hopped with Hallertau Blanc and lagered slowly to our satisfaction, Bier Von Der Fels has all the complexity and flavour of a "white Burg" while remaining very drinkable at 4.4% ABV-- the perfect pairing for a picnic or settling in for a few amazing dishes at Bar Von Der Fels.

We'd like to thank Neil Bamford who, along with his amazing partner Tom Corbett, run The Vineyard home-brew shop. Where else does a craft brewing revolution start but at the local home-brew shop? Neil seems to be fuelled by a mission of turning home-brewers into pro-brewers. This one is for Neil.
The beer is a sessionable Oatmeal Pale ale utilizing Cascade as a single hop variety which imparts sweet floral citrus aromas of grapefruit and limes balanced with slight spicy pine notes on the palate. At 4.5% with a balanced crisp bitterness, this beer is a PERFECT companion for summer patio session, but then again so is Neil.

Pineapple Wheat Beer

High Five IPA with an imperial spin.

My strength is not in IBU and ABV, that is what the parasites will never understand. A season for all things! A time for Mango and a time for Passionfruit, a time for clean....and a time for sour.

This balanced golden copper coloured IPA has a big hop aroma of citrus and passionfruit which combines with resinous and pine hop flavors leading to a softly bitter finish. This is the clear choice for hop-heads!

This beer is tart, dry and super refreshing with layers of complex lime flavours and aromas, balanced with a cool earthy undertone from the cucumber. Making this beer was fun! We hand-peeled 300 pounds of Alberta-grown cucumbers, and zested and juiced 200 limes.

We also added torn kaffir lime leaves and smashed dried Mediterranean loomi limes to give it a certain something that most lime beers do not. Light additions of salt and coriander bring the flavours together with a long lasting bready wheat flavour.

West Coast IPA with Amarillo, Simcoe and Mosiac Hops

Finally, a fruit beer with actual fruit in it...and a lot of fruit! Big fresh raspberry jam notes, light body and tart finish make this beer perfect for any occasion, any time of year.

This is a beer that embodies adventure. A departure from the classic IPA, it has a deep red colour from Alberta�s world class barley, balanced by a notorious line up of hops. All this packaged in a beer designed for the drinker who has their eyes on the summit.

Soft, delicate, and highly aromatic, Flagstick Hazy Pale Ale is refreshingly off-dry and light-bodied with notes of ripe pineapple, clementine orange, and a hint of spruce.

Tart with a biscuit/bread note on the finish. The ginger greets you right up front but is subtle and complimentary to the sour notes. Not overly aggressive in its pallet. This beer is a perfect summer drink. Would pair well with cucumber, peaches, salads, and hot summer nights. Very mild aroma. Notes of lemon peel, coriander, orange, toast, ginger, lemongrass, and pineapple.

Citrus Beer

This Belgian, though at 6.2% ABV, has a very light body a spicy and herbal aroma with flavours of black pepper, light stone fruit and herbs with a dry finish, making for an excellent thirst quencher that packs a pit of a punch.

A complex blend of dark malts gives our Porter layered depth of chocolate and coffee notes. Deep, robust and rich, this beer is sinfully delicious.
This jet black porter has notes of expresso, dark chocolate and toffee. Velvety smooth on the tongue makes for a flavorful yet sessionable dark ale.

A collaboration between Origin Malting & Brewing, Prairie Dog Brewing and Typeface Coffee Roasters, this brew has some serious flavor. The base beer is a 5.5% Kolsch with a hefty dose of coffee added at time of packaging.

In the German beer family there are lots of strange and interesting cousins, but only one stately older uncle with a long and storied history like this. This style of beer has been around for hundreds of years, produced throughout Bavaria before the lighter Oktoberfest and Pilsner styles were even invented. Made with a blend of light and dark Munich malts and lagered for a minimum of 30 days.

A WELL BALANCED IPA WITH A DEEP GOLD COLOUR. BISCUIT AND CARAMEL MALT NOTES LEAD INTO LIGHT TROPICAL FRUIT NOTES AND A HEAVY PINE FINISH. THE MODERATE HOP BITTERNESS MAKES THIS AN EASY CHOICE FOR IPA NEWBIES AND VETERANS ALIKE.

Keep a sturdy grip on this hand-wrought ale. It is an alloy of premium two-row Alberta barley, roasted to a black malt and infused with quantities of potent, bitter hops. Stalwart and bold, it will douse the coal-fired thirst, slake the spirit and clear the soot from the teeth.

100% Brett IPA

Double dry hopped

Named to honoue the essence of nature's brutal hierarchy, this bold saison combines the complexity of Belgian farmhouse yeast with subtle lactic acid sourness and the juice of three unique cherry varieties. Brewed to satisfy the predatory instincts of every true beer lover, red in both tooth and claw.

Dark chocolate meets tart red wine and wood character in this barrel-aged, sour stout. Sweetness backs up the bold, fruity character, with undertones of vanilla and toffee. Soured with wild bacteria while aging three months in a 3rd-use bourbon barrel. No wine or wine-barrel-aging was involved, the wine character is entirely the result of the beer, wood, and microbiology involved.

When we brewed the first batch of our kettle sour, which turned out to be wildly popular, we squirrelled away 400-litres of the beer in oak red-wine barrels and began to age it. After several months, we transferred the beer to a second barrel and inoculated it with brettanomyces yeast, a form of �wild� yeast that adds loads of complex phenols and some fruity notes to this highly spirited and white-wine-like beer, which still clocks in at under 3.5% ABV.

Haymaker is a nod to the breadbasket of our country. This complex wheat beer offers flavours of stone fruit aged on wood delivered softly like stalks swaying in the wind. Like rotating crops through a field, a resilient yield brings forward fruit flavour with an undercurrent of a sturdy body. Subtle and swift like a wild punch, this first cut will surely not be the last.

It�s finally here, the third beer in our New England trilogy. Joel and the Giant Peach is the biggest, booziest, and hoppiest of our New Englands. It's hazy, fruity and hopped to impress; Idaho7, Mandarina Bavaria, and Amarillo mean this beer is exploding with citrus notes. At 50 IBU, Joel and the Giant Peach is more bitter than the Bahama Trauma - but it needs to be in order to balance out the 8.5% alcohol content. To assist with this we also fruited this beer with real peach puree, in perfect proportion, to give the beer peach flavour and aroma without creating a fruit juice. This brew is still all beer, with a touch of peach. Brewed in collaboration by Banded Peak Brewing, Paddy's Barbecue and Brewery and Canada Malting. The beer was brewed using Canada Malting's new Alberta Heritage Select malt. This beer is a salted sour ale fermented with peach puree and dry hopped with Amarillo. Tart, fruity and refreshing.
